Keeping Businesses Locally Owned
Sell your business to
a trusted employee
We’ll support your trusted employee in buying you out. You get paid upfront, while keeping your business in good hands.
Benefits of selling to an employee
Retain your culture, reward your trusted employee, continue your reputation. Transferring to a key employee allows you to cash out, while keeping the business on the right track.
Get paid upfront. We’ll bring the capital to the table to fund the deal.
Retain your company culture by keeping ownership within the employee base. No private equity firm slashing jobs.
Strong employees make great owners. They’ve put in the time to learn the trade, now help them win as owners.
No dealing with long times on the market and tire kickers. Transferring to an employee allows you to exit on a faster timeline.
Stable transition. Unlike a first-time operator, employee transfers are more stable. Employees already know your customers and suppliers. They will uphold your reputation.
We work on your timeline
01
Introduction
We’ll start with an initial introduction. We want to hear your story, who the employee is and decide if the potential deal is a good fit for us.
02
Apply
We’ll ask for some basic information about the business as well as an introduction to the employee(s) planning on buying you out.
03
Transact
Once we sign an engagement, we’ll work with you to outline deal terms and line up funding. We invest our own money, but often recommend using an SBA loan as well.
04
Onward
We’ll get our hands dirty with building a transition plan, strategizing on announcing to other employees, and making sure the business grows to new heights.
What sets us apart
Not our first rodeo
We’ve worked with hundreds of small business entrepreneurs to buy and sell small businesses. We can help you exit your business on your terms to the ideal successor.
Fair market valuations
We review dozens of small businesses per week and understand that books can be messy. We will work with you to calculate the true cashflow of the business and ensure you receive a fair multiple on it.
Invest our own money
We’ll contribute cash towards the deal, to help the employee in buying you out. We’ll also come to the table with additional financing options if necessary.
Documents ready to go
Our firm has a set of transaction docs that you can use for the transfer. While we still recommend having an attorney review them, this can save you thousands in legal fees.
Who we work with
By keeping a high bar on the transactions we take on, we can ensure that we deliver on our promise to owners and employees.
