Operators come to Mainshares to raise capital from investors, but many of them forget about their newfound responsibilities once they accept investors on their cap table.
Profit distributions, information rights, communication channels, cap table organization, investor consents, and so on. These investment management responsibilities can be hard to keep track of, and many first-time capital raisers don’t know where to start.
We recognize that the complexities of investment management can be overwhelming for operators after their transaction closes and in some cases, may even deter them from seeking to raise capital in the first place. To address this issue, we’ve been working on new tools for our operators to manage their investors.
Our core belief is that informed investors are more engaged with their portfolios and more likely to support your current (and potential future) business growth.
While our investment management suite has been live for several months, we’ve recently built several new features to improve the experience for operators. Our biggest feature yet, on-platform distributions, just completed a huge milestone (more on this below), and we’re thrilled to offer this to our operators.
Fully integrated investor distributions
Today, any operator on the Mainshares platform can send investor distributions directly from their dashboard. This dramatically improves both the issuer and investor experience, reducing the chances of errors in manually sending individual investors their funds and speeding up the process of operators being able to pay distributions.
Not only is the feature live, but operators on the platform have already leveraged Mainshares’ new distributions feature to pay out their investor distributions, including Floores Galore owner, Jacob Voswinkel.
Other features available
Investor distributions is just one of the new features we’ve recently introduced, and is part of a full suite of tools aimed at simplifying an operator’s reporting, organizing, and communication experience, so they can get back to building their businesses.
The Investment Management suite includes the following features:
Investor portal access for all of your investors
Cap table display by share class and stakeholder type
Secure data room for company documents
Integration with your preferred accounting software to display key financial metrics
Waterfall distribution modeling
Syndication and review of investor consents
Access to Mainshares community and our Operator Network
Professional support for financial, operational, or administrative needs

Looking Ahead
New features like these are just the beginning of what the future holds enabling operators to connect and engage with their investor base. As we continue to refine our Investment Management platform, we're committed to providing even more value to both entrepreneurs and investors. Our vision is to help SMB entrepreneurs build better businesses on Mainshares, and these new tools bring us one step closer to realizing that goal.
We want to thank all our users for their trust and support. Stay tuned for more exciting updates as we continue to grow and improve the Mainshares platform.
