As we onboard more and more entrepreneurs to Mainshares, we hear one consistent ask: help me find good deals. With many listings online being overpriced and offline deals being hard to come across, it can be challenging to source good acquisition targets.
We just shipped a feature to help. Purpose built for Mainshares entrepreneurs and called Acquisition Targets, we aggregate pre-qualified targets from our partner business brokers and show the key facts right inside your Mainshares login.
We are beginning to populate pre-qualified targets this week and have a queue that we need to pre-qualify. These targets will be a mix of off-market and actively listed deals from a variety of business brokers.
Here are the quick notes:
Legitimate Targets: All of these targets are sourced from our partner brokers. Only deals that pass our pre-qualification process are listed.
Personalized Introductions: If any of them sound like a fit, you can request to contact the broker. We'll make a personalized introduction to ensure they are responsive and treat your interest seriously.
Pre-qualified: We will add in any pre-qualifications on the debt or equity side, so that you can plan your cap stack.
Adding More Each Week: We have a few uploaded right now and another 5 in the queue from other brokers. We're planning on adding a handful each week.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does "pre-qualified" mean?
It means we have received a firm term sheet or letter of support for equity and/or debt financing at the pre-qualified price.
Are these targets the same as what I can find on BizBuySell?
No. A majority will likely end up cross-posted to BizBuySell but at least 20% are true off-market deals being represented by business brokers we know.
Are all the targets pre-qualified?
Right now, yes. If you think we should list targets that we believe are overpriced or cannot be pre-qualified, let us know. We're happy to do that.
Are you building a listing site?
No! There are a lot of people working on that. We're laser focused on making it easier to work with investors. This feature is only valuable to us insofar as it allows more entrepreneurs to find targets, go under contract, and raise money to seal the deal.
